Elizabeth, author of the poem, “October is In Love with the Impossible,” learned techniques about prose poems from a workshop by an award-winning poet Gary Young, 2009 Shelley Memorial Award, and she was also inspired by the narrative poems in Human Wishes by poet Robert Hass, Pulitzer Prize winner and former US Poet Laureate.

You can see a portion of the October poem inside an SF Giants ball painting (in 2012 at the SFPL for a calligraphy exhibit). Last November 2010 Photography Show at SSF Betty Webber Gallery, she exhibited three SF Giants photos (Orange October, Orange Crush 55, October is In Love with the Impossible). Orange Crush 55 was sold and Orange October was selected for an extended exhibition.

She is also the author of the poem “You Can Only Drink Rainbows in South San Francisco), a clip of which was published in San Francisco Chronicle in 1997. For almost two months, SF Chronicle noticed --- there was an outpour of poems from the poets of the San Francisco Bay Area because they wanted to have poems about their towns published too.
