The Children's Center is a preschool and before and after-school facility funded by the school district and theMore state. The preschool has sites at both Spruce and Martin Elementary Schools for children from three-and-a-half to five years old, while the before and after-school program is available only at Spruce for first through fifth graders. Both full and half-day options are available for preschoolers, while the elementary program provides academic support and enrichment in science, music and art from 7am to 6pm on school days.

The Children's Center is aimed at low-income families, and families must qualify before enrolling their children.
