William Ayres pled no contest today to eight counts of child molestation.
Alison May 16, 2013 at 05:36 pm
There was no reason on earth why this had to take six years. Numerous pedophile doctors around theRead More county who were arrested AFTER Ayres were convicted in less than a year after the arrest. Incompetence and corruption in the San Mateo DA's office.. It only took a long time because the DA's office did a poor job in the first trial and neglected to prep the victims and prosecution witnesses or investigate Ayres' training. THEN the DA's office got mad at the families of victims for hiring a private investigator, who proved Ayres was competent to stand trial. Wagstaffe didn't want to retry Ayres and told a mother of a victim that because Ayres was using a walker, that wasn't helpful to his competency. Wagstaffe and his crew need to go.
Fire crews on May 15, 2013 were sent to a possible hazardous materials incident in South City.

Thank you for running this story Mirna; had you not, it no doubt wouldn't have been made public.Read More Too many biotech employees are either injured or have illnesses/diseases from biolab occupational exposure to bacteria, fungi, viruses, insects, and/or chemicals. The biotech companies are very clever in not letting workplace acquired injuries/illnesses/diseases known. Sad to say; the cities, towns, counties, states; as well the governmental agencies, who are to enforce occupational safety and health regulations the biotech industry should adhere to, merely turn a blind eye because of fear of loss of revenue. Biotech is big in California and everyone wants to "hear no evil", "see no evil" and "speak no evil" when it comes to health and safety violations committed in the biotech arena. All misdeeds by the bioetech employer are ignored and/or covered up. This was the case with my son who worked as an Assistant Researcher in the lab of a biotech company in Davis; only his company was involved in agriculture research and development instead of pharmaceuticals. Again, thank you for submitting the truth.

her brother was out there with her and went into the house. the father didn't know she was outRead More alone. I just thank god that my nonverbal autistic son has finally starting talking some.

lauren you were not there, so do not judge.

Heart wrenching. Thoughts and prayers that this beautiful little girl is reunited with her family.

So glad to see that no real trouble was had during Cinco de Mayo. People are learning I guess -Read More that's good for everyone!

I just don't know what the police consider as safe driving. I see some people drive around that justRead More have no business having a drivers license. This is when they supposedly have no distractions. Holding a cell phone to your ear and talking while driving is of course a distraction. Driving and texting just that much more. I somehow however fail to see the connection between driving and talking via an ear piece. I do the same thing virtually every day and I am as aware of my surroundings as the majority of people who have both hands on their steering wheel and are going 50 miles an hour on a freeway. The idea of a hands free device is just that, to have your hands free. It is meant for people who can walk and chew gum at the same time. Alas many drivers would fail that test.

I am so sick of seeing people swerving into my lane and then seeing that they are on a cell orRead More texting. Fine them more. That phone call isn't that important to get 2 or 3 people killed from lack of attention.

Personally, I think it's "cruel and bloodthirsty" to attempt to interfere with patients'Read More access to legal healthcare options, and to attempt to impose gestational slavery on women with unwanted pregnancies. But as a Catholic for almost 60 years, I'm well aware that the Church sees women as no more than livestock.
KathyD May 5, 2013 at 07:46 pm
But since the real money makers are the ADOPTION mill businesses, many of them run tax-free by theRead More Catholic Church, you're just a radical theocratic misogynist crank.

I support Planned Parenthood, I do not support the negative affects it will have on my business.Read More The protestors (pro or con) are intimidating. The police having to deal with their unruly behavior is a negative experience. There are many empty bldgs in SSF that would be perfect for their business. I wish you the best with your fireplace project. Last time I checked, it is their 1st amendment right.

Now I love our guys in blue more than most and always support them, but I agree with rushro that theRead More "gone when officers arrived" is used A LOT . Granted, a pooping dog or a car driving 15 mph don't sound life threatening, but if the guy who is drivintg 15mph is still able to get away, well . . . ?? Still, I'm glad to see the crime in SSF has scaled back from a couple of years back when we lost a number of young men to gang related stuff. I think that gang-member-sweep the feds/county/city coordinated and executed a year or so ago has helped our town greatly. Hope next time eggs get thrown or kids scream in church our guys in blue get there in time to catch the egg throwers or tell the brats to be quiet.

There are two things that often happen. One is the suspicious persons realize the police have beenRead More called and they leave. Other times, the suspicious people were already sort of "on the move" and officers just don't get there in time. Police officers are rarely casual about reacting to a call. It has been my experience that most cops want to make their presence known so criminals are stopped before a crime is committed.
rushro April 16, 2013 at 03:02 pm
The phrase "gone when officers arrived on the scene" seems to frequently be the case. AreRead More they being a little too casual about responding or is there some other explanation?
Sam Chetcuti April 6, 2013 at 10:18 pm
Since this scum of a human being was already caught in a police sting, why bother going to court,Read More local or federal. It seems that the only thing that can either reduce or eliminate this perverts sex drive is to chemically castrate him.

I can see how this can happen. I had a leak in my garage that started two days ago. I thought it wasRead More my washer so I disconnected it and put it in the drive way to inspect it. I took the dryer out also to clean around it. There was a ton of lint in the 4 inch duck at the elbow. I put my hand in a pulled out a big hand full of it. I went to the store to get some aluminum tape for the dryer and when I returned my washer was stolen. My neighbor saw who did it. These guys driving slowly around your neighborhood acting like they are looking for old metal and such are actually thieves. My washer was two years old and no way looked like it was there for the taking. They were two latins driving a red ford ranger with tall wooden side rails. Be carefull of what you have in front of your house, these LATINS will steal it in a heartbeat, I am in westlake and I see these trucks all around. This is just a neighborhood alert to watch out for these thieves.

What is going on here. If they are indeed found guilty of setting these fires, their parents shouldRead More repay every last dime of damage. They should also repay any and all costs that the city incurred to put out these fires. I don't care if it leaves there parents destitue. At 14 years old, these two for lack of a better word, punks, aren't innocent babes any longer. Instead of sending them up to juvenille hall, they should be locked up there for a very long time. Like the former poster said, I am certain that the PC police will be angry at my posting for telling the truth.
GOPSTAR April 6, 2013 at 08:12 pm
I don't care how old they are. I can't believe they get to go home after confessing to arson. I knowRead More the PC police would get upset should they be jailed.
Sam Chetcuti April 6, 2013 at 10:07 pm
Shots heard in South City, what is this city coming to. When I moved here it was to get away fromRead More the rats nest that is know as San Francisco. Is South San Francisco headed the way of San Francisco? The police need to nip in the bud any type of dangerous activity and I am certain that gun shots being fired falls into that category. Any and all potential problems to the citizens of this fair city should be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Send the rif raf someplace else and leave peaceful people in peace.
Sam Chetcuti April 6, 2013 at 10:36 pm
I don't know what led two people who were seperated to live together, I do however do know this. IfRead More they were seperated I don't think she would have any reason to care if he were seeing another woman or not. Not only shouldn't she care, I don't think that her ex-husband should care. Since she admitted that she murdered her ex-husband, from the facts of this story she also planned to murder him. Waiting for him in the bathroom with a baseball bat. My question about this whole sordid story is this, why are the taxpayers of California going to foot this womans bill for anywhere from 16 years to life. After all she admitted to murder and her scheme was rather complex. Wouldn't a single bullet to the head save the taxpayers a lot of money. After all she had no qualms in taking a life, why should the state?
