Here's an easy way to handle donations to political campaigns. Only voters registered to vote in…Read More California can donate to campaigns for the California legislature and constitutional offices and put a $7,000 limit on the total amount a person can donate to all campaigns during a campaign season. And -this is the important part- mandatory prison sentences for anyone violating the law.

"make it a criminal offense for corporations to "donate" to political…Read More campaigns". Not a bad idea but it may not be constitutional. However, we should consider such an idea if we also made it illegal for all special interest groups and organizations such as but not limited to move on.org, labor unions, common cause, etc.

If I could vote on this budget, I would require the banksters to pay property taxes on all the…Read More properties they foreclose upon, and that would tremendously help our budget, and our state. And, I would prohibit lobbyists from "buying" our elected politicians (I can't even call them representatives because they don't represent We, the People) and make it a criminal offense for corporations to "donate" to political campaigns.

Really! I reuse all plastic bags as trash bag liners (now I will have to buy them from GLAD, etc.).…Read More I have purchased reusable bags from the stores I shop in but will now have to wash them to protect myself and my family from deadly bacterias. That is then a waste of our water!!! Nobody can win here. Paper IS recyclable but we must now pay 10 cents per bag. WHAT?!?! Is that punishment for something?? Most people DO recycle plastic bags so I just don't understand why there is a punishment county wide (soon to be state wide). Is this America; the land of the free??

If plastic bags are so "bad for our waterways", how does using more water and detergent to…Read More wash cloth bags--and dumping it into the ecosystem--qualify as environmentally sensible?
Recycling dirty plastic bags does not affect our water in any way like like dirt, bacteria, and detergent do.
Banning a recyclable plastic bag because some people misuse them is senseless overkill.

Well I'm sure I will never have a use for any of the items Sprouts and Shutters will be offering in…Read More their showroom, but I WELCOME them to SSF just the same. Our local restaurants and other business will surely profit from their coming to SSF and maybe even a few of our residents who may get work with this unique business.
