Start the Giving Season Early this Year

Some picks for local seasonal volunteering.

Thanksgiving tends to get a lot of us thinking not only about the things we are thankful for, but also what we can do to help those who could use a little more to be thankful for. With the holiday season officially in full swing, we’ve put together a few ideas on how to volunteer in our community and make the holidays a little brighter for those in need.

Donate food or toys to their 600 Linden Avenue Center or to the Help provide families with holiday meals by donating items like turkey, stuffing or cranberry sauce, or by donating grocery gift cards. Check out NPNSC’s website or call (650) 583-3373 for more information.

Donate toys, adopt a family or senior, or set up an online “red kettle” to get your friends and family contributing to this group, which helps provide meals, toys and shelter for the holidays and throughout the year. Tell your loved ones that the best gift they can give you this year is a donation to your “red kettle,” with all proceeds going toward Salvation Army. Or “adopt” someone in need through their “Angel Giving Tree” program with JC Penny.
