Pet of the Week: Bagira the Black Cat

Bagira is looking for a new home.

Pet of the Week is a regular feature on South San Francisco Patch.  We'll alternate pets seeking homes from the Peninsula Humane Society with your own special companions.  To submit your pet for Pet of the Week, email a photo and description to drew@patch.com

Meet Bagira, who is as sleek as the black panther in Kipling's The Jungle Book:

I'm a friendly and outgoing 6-year old altered male with short hair.  My new owners need to have some pet experience. However, I can be adopted by a family who has children. I'm currently kenneled with other cats and getting along fine.

In recognition of the San Francisco Giants magical season and play-off appearance, the Humane Society is initiating a special "black and orange" adoption promotion.  Through October 31, folks can adopt any black or orange cat for $9.

Cats and baseball?  It's a perfect match. Cats have 9 lives. Baseball has 9 innings and 9 players.

The Humane Society is located at 12 Airport Blvd., San Mateo, next to Coyote Point Park. For directions and information, call 650-340-7022.
