Warriors Edge Vikings in PAL Baseball

The underdog South San Francisco team beat Mills 3-2.

South San Francisco High School pushed three runs across the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning to defeat Mills High School 3-2 Tuesday afternoon at Orange Park in PAL action.

"It's been a long, tough season for us," said South City Coach Daryl Semien. "So this was a good one to get."

Down 2-0 as the 5th inning began, Warrior first baseman Gregorio Jimenez singled in two runs with the bases loaded off Mills starting pitcher Joey Carney.

The hard-throwing Carney took the loss, despite striking out twelve Warrior batters. He walked five. South San Francisco pitcher Joe Marcucci was the winner, moving his record to 4-3 with an ERA of 2.00. Marcucci had 10 strikeouts.

3rd baseman Bryan Hidalgo and catcher Sean McHugh notched two hits apiece for Mills. Jimenez had two hits for South City.

Mills drops to 14-12 overall, 8-5 in PAL action. South San Francisco improves to 7-19, with a 5-8 PAL record.

The two teams will conclude their seasons by playing each other Thursday at 4:00 p.m on the Mills' diamond.

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
