POLL: Giants or A's? Who's Your Favorite Bay Area Team?

We're officially half a week into the baseball season. Honor your favorite team by voting in our poll and explaining your pick in the comments.

The Major League Baseball season officially opened Friday, and though neither the A's or the Giants have been off to a rip-roaring start, they still have a whole season of highs and lows to toy with their fans' emotions.

What better way to recognize the start of spring than with a friendly fan poll on Patch?

We'd also love to see any photos you have showing your team spirit. (A little face paint wouldn't hurt either.) Click the green "add" button to post them here.

Explain your vote in the comments below. Friendly heckling allowed.

For a Giants schedule, click here. For the A's, click here.

Both schedules are attached as PDFs. You can also download schedules directly into your online calendar program from the team websites.

Play ball!

I actually won a trip to Giants Spring Training this year from KNBR radio station, so the picture above shows my buddy and I down in Scottsdale. It was a great experience. GO GIANTS!!!

I was wondering whether I should even run this poll because South City seems to be pretty firmly Giants territory (I say this as someone with little inside knowledge of sports). However, you've got people living here who are from other parts of the Bay Area, so maybe we'll have some A's fans.

I root for both teams, but I guess i lean towards the Giants because they're on our side of the bay.

Hubby and I are diehard A's fans, and we always have plenty of room riding Bart back around the bay from the biggity O! Let's go A's!

I don't find a lot of animosity between Giants and A's fans, perhaps because they are in different leagues so there's not a lot of rivalry. The real contention comes between Giants and Dodgers fans-- and there seems to be quite a few LA transplants in the Bay Area.
