WATCH: Local Students Tell Giants to "Play Ball!"

The Giants game couldn't start Tuesday night until two South San Francisco students yelled, "Play ball!"

As part of SSFUSD's Night at the Ballpark, Karina Ayala, 13, a seventh grader at , and Carille Coronado, 8, a second grader at Skyline Elementary School, had the honor of starting the game by yelling, "Play ball!"

Coronado admitted she was nervous.

"I'm going to say it in front of all those people," Coronado said.

But when the moment came, both girls overcame any lingering doubts and shouted the immortal words in the microphone. They even got to share a dance with Giants mascot Lou Seal.

Yelling "Play ball!" was an incentive for selling tickets to that night's game, .
