PHOTOS: SSFUSD Night at the Ballpark

Giants? What Giants? The star tonight is the South San Francisco Unified School District.

The stars took the field Tuesday night at AT&T Park, and they weren't the ballplayers.

No, the night was all about South City pride. A combined band from district schools played the national anthem, SSFUSD Superintendent Alejandro Hogan threw out the first pitch and Parkway Heights seventh-grader Karina Ayala joined Skyline second-grader Carille Coronado to yell, "Play ball!"

The evening ; the schools sold over 2,000 tickets, for which they get to keep $7 each.
