Monte Verde Celebrates Doodle 4 Google Win

Today, the celebration came home. His school, Monte Verde Elementary School, held a morning assembly to celebrate his win, which brought the school a $25,000 technology grant that it will use for a new computer lab.

Representatives from Congresswoman Jackie Speier and Assemblyman Jerry Hill gave Matteo commendations, and all the students got cake. Principal Deborah Mirt unveiled a framed display of Matteo's Doodle, which will stay permanently in the auditorium.

Matteo enjoyed the cake, but he said the attention is overwhelming.
