Where are you from, how long have you lived in SSF, and what brought you here?

I have lived in SSF all my life and even went through SSFUSD as a kid.  I went away to college for 6 years and once I finished my credential work, I decided to move back home to be close to my family.

What's your background in education? Be sure to include where you were most recently.

I have done a lot of fieldwork in various elementary, middle and high schools along the central coast and southern California.  Most recently I did my student teaching last year in Long Beach.  At the end of last year, I was Ms. Pogon's long term substitute here at SSFHS for about 2 1/2 months.

What do you excites you about working in South City or SSF High in particular?

I'm excited to be able to work in the school district that I grew up in and had a major part in making me who I am today.  I'm looking forward to getting to know the students at SSFHS and hopefully getting them a little more excited about moving around and getting some physical activity!

What are the best and toughest parts of your job?

The best part about this job is the relationships I can build with my students.  I enjoy seeing them the first day, and just watching them blossom throughout the year.  The toughest part about this position is motivating students to participate in the various activities, especially when its freezing outside!
