For Devotion to Schools, a Golden Apple

SSFUSD teachers and staff were honored Wednesday in the annual Golden Apple awards ceremony.

Only ten awards are given out every year in this prestigious ceremony, and only to teachers and staff who have shown a love for students and devotion to their work as educators.

This year was the 26th annual Golden Apple awards ceremony in the South San Francisco Unified School District, and award winners garnered emotional ovations for their dedication to their work. The Golden Apple award winners were:

  • Trini Arrieta – IT Specialist
  • Robert Beauchamp – Ed. Services Director III
  • Deborah Carlino – 5th grade teacher at Martin Elementary School
  • Joann Eremeyeff –  Parkway Heights Middle School campus security
  • Stella Marcic – Admin. Asst. II at SSFHS
  • Pat Martinelli – Spanish and Dance teacher at SSFHS
  • Erik Migdail – English teacher at SSFHS
  • Cindy Petrovitz – Support Secretary II at ECHS
  • Ryan Sebers – Supervisor, Attendance & Welfare
  • Bonnie White – District nurse

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
