Board Approves Filling Two Leadership Positions

The board approves picks for the Measure J bond program director and the assistant superintendent of business services.

The school board appointed individuals to fill the posts of assistant superintendent of business services and bond program director at its meeting Thursday night.

Ahmad Sheikholeslami is the pick to oversee the Measure J bond as program director. He's currently working full time for the Menlo Park City School District, overseeing a bond project for that district that will conclude in August.

Under an agreement with the Menlo Park district (to be finalized when its board meets Feb. 15), Sheikholeslami will devote half of his time to work with the South San Francisco Unified School District through the end of the year, according to Superintendent Alejandro Hogan. SSFUSD will pay Menlo Park City School District $7,000 a month for his services.

At the end of the school year, the two districts will draft another agreement such that Sheikholeslami will devote more of his time to SSFUSD. When his work with the Menlo Park City School District is completed, he'll work for SSFUSD full time, Hogan said.

Patricia Ernsberger, who's currently with the Lemoore Union Elementary School District, is the choice to serve as assistant superintendent of business services. Since she has yet to accept the job offer and it's not clear when she can make the transition to SSFUSD, the board extended Interim Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Sandra Lee Lepley's contract through March 31.

Lepley's services will only be used based on need, Hogan told the board.

SSFUSD will pay Ernsberger $128,889 a year, Hogan said.
