Congratulations, El Camino High School Music Department

The El Camino High School band enjoyed a successful year at music festivals across the state.

This year the El Camino Jazz Band, Jazz Combo and Symphonic band enjoyed a
successful year at music festivals around California. Jazz Band took first place
at the Heritage Music Festival at CSU Fullerton while the Jazz Combo I placed
second at the infamous Reno Jazz Festival at the University of Reno. The festivals awarded outstanding jazz solo performance to: Jerimiah Capistrano, Jennifer Clemena, Richard Concepcion, Josiah Faustino and Anthony Puducay.

These two ensembles along with our Symphonic band received all superior marks at the CMEA (California Music Educators Association) festival with Symphonic and and Jazz Combo I receiving a Unanimous Superior, the highest marks a group can receive.

The hard work and dedication to the music program has led to special recognition for the ECHS music students. Anthony Puducay, a sophomore, has received a full scholarship to attend the Stanford Jazz Workshop.  SJW brings the best jazz performers and educators together with students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds for a two week summer course.

And the following students received a partial scholarship to attend
the Lafayette Jazz Workshop. LJW provides and intimate and inspiring environment for learning and playing jazz. The awardees of the scholarships are: Jonah Cabral, Judith Cantiller, Josiah Faustino, Zach Montalbano, Justin Palaad,
Hilario Quintero, Edwin Ramirez, J.R. Refuerzo, Ryan Romero, Eduardo

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
