Will Cheaper Rates Entice You to Downtown Garage?

The city council just cut parking rates on the Miller Avenue garage in half. Will you park there?

On Wednesday night, the city council voted to cut rates by half at the Miller Avenue parking garage that to feed more foot traffic downtown.

That means it will now cost 50 cents an hour, or $1.50 a day to park there, with no time restrictions, significantly less than the $1 an hour metered spaces on Grand Avenue.

The move was in response to , which was meeting less than 10 percent of revenue projections nearly a year after it opened.

City staff also plans to reach out to downtown merchants to help promote garage use.

"This is infrastructure that will be an asset for the community for 75 years," said Councilmember Mark Addiego. "We’re looking for a new downtown someday."

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
