Former Water Superintendent Honored for 40 Years of Service

David Castagnola was honored with a proclamation from the South San Francisco City Council in commemoration of his retirement.

The South San Francisco City Council honored former superintendent of the Water Quality Control Plant David Castagnola Wednesday with a proclamation in celebration of his retirement and nearly 40 years of service to the city of South San Francisco.

Mayor Richard Garbarino presented a long list of Castagnola's accomplishments throughout the years to the applause of the audience.

"I'm so old I can't remember doing half those things," Castagnola joked.

The former superintendent thanked the council and said he is greatly honored to have been given the opportunity to serve the city.

"From the very beginning, Dave, you were always a gentleman," said councilmember Mark Addiego.
