South City Looks To Fill Vacant Board and Commission Positions

The deadline to apply for the voluntary positions is February 26.

Interested in becoming more involved with South City’s government?

The city is looking to fill two Park Planning Commission seats, two Personnel Board seats, and one Planning Commission seat, said Krista Martinelli, City Clerk for South San Francisco on Tuesday.

All those interested must be registered to vote in South San Francisco, and be able to attend all required meetings.

The Parks and Recreation Commission, which meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 7 p.m., deals with all matters related to parks and recreation. Committee members serve three-year terms, for up to four consecutive terms.

The Personnel Board, which meets the third Tuesday of every quarter at 6 p.m., deals with issues of employment and recruitment. Committee members serve four-year terms, for up to three consecutive terms.

The Planning Commission, which meets the first and third Thursdays of the month at 7:30 p.m., deals with community development, planning and zoning. Committee members serve four-year terms, for up to three consecutive terms.

Applications must be received by February 26 at 5 p.m., said Martinelli.
