Sally Campbell, Harbor Commissioner, Dies

Sally Campbell, 68, had served on the San Mateo County Harbor Commission for 19 years.

Sally Campbell, a San Mateo County Harbor Commissioner, died Saturday afternoon at Seton Coastside Medical Center.

Campbell, 68, suffered cardiac arrest while undergoing physical therapy for knee surgery.

Campbell had served on the San Mateo County Harbor Commission since her election in 1992. According to Peter Grenell, Harbor District general manager, Campbell focused on commercial fishermen, development of harbor facilities and fiscal discipline.

“Commissioner Campbell loved the harbors, especially Pillar Point, and she will be missed by the Harbor District,” said Commission President James Tucker in a statement.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Campbell moved to the Coastside in 1973. She worked in book manufacturing marketing for 25 years and also had a career in real estate.

In addition to her service on the Harbor Commission, Campbell served on the Midcoast Community Council for six years.

She is survived by her son, Greg, and two grandchildren.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
