Mayor, Vice Mayor File for Reelection

Mayor Kevin Mullin and Vice Mayor Richard Garbarino have qualified for the fall's city council race; a third potential candidate has yet to file papers.

Mayor Kevin Mullin and Vice Mayor Richard Garbarino have filed papers for reelection and qualified for the ballot, according to the South San Francisco City Clerk's office.

Garbarino turned in his papers Tuesday and Mullin turned in his yesterday. The county qualified both candidates within a couple hours, according to the clerk's office.

There are two open seats in this fall's city council race. A third potential candidate, John Rankins, has pulled papers but has yet to file them.

Potential candidates have until Aug. 12 to file papers to be on the ballot in the November election.
