Do You Want a Plastic Bag Ban?

You have a chance to share your views on proposed legislation at a public hearing next week.

San Mateo County is considering implementing a plastic bag ban in cooperation with city governments that could come before the Board of Supervisors in October.

The law would generally ban plastic bags, with exceptions for restaurants and meat and produce bags, and require stores to charge 10 cents for paper bags, the Daily Journal reports.

This proposed step, , would heighten the city's current on large retail stores.
