Can't Beat City Hall? Join It

A number of openings are coming up on the city's boards and commissions.

Got an opinion about South San Francisco's public libraries? How about county flood control?

If you'd like to help craft city policy on topics ranging from the arts to housing to the environment, now you have the chance: 19 seats on South San Francisco's boards and commissions have immediate or pending openings, due to either vacancies or term expirations. They include:

  • The Conference Center Authority (4 seats)
  • The Housing Authority (2 seats)
  • The Housing Authority Tenant Commission (1 seat)
  • The Library Board (2 seats)
  • The Cultural Arts Commission (9 seats)
  • The San Mateo County Flood Control District (1 seat)

Applicants must be South San Francisco voters who must be available to attend board and commission meetings and fulfill responsibilities. Further information about expectations is in the PDF on the top right.

To apply, fill out an application form (located in the PDF on the top right) and return it to the by June 25 at 5 p.m.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
