Learn how to avoid scam artists and and telemarketing fraud at a workshop hosted by Assemblymember Jerry Hill.

 

South City citizens and seniors who want to learn ways to combat attempts by con artists to steal money will have the opportunity tomorrow to learn more about arming themselves with a self defense strategy.

On Friday at 10 a.m in Belmont., Assemblymember Jerry Hill and representatives from Seniors Against Fraud (SAIF), will present the annual senior fraud prevention workshop at .

Over the past year, South City police have gotten reports from residents who received calls from people pretending to be relatives abroad and asking for money to be sent to them.

The free workshop will teach seniors how to protect themselves against scam artists who commit investment and telemarketing fraud crimes. Participants of all ages are welcome.
