South City Student's Follower Sentenced

A local man who repeatedly followed a South City high school student in May gets time in county jail.

South City resident Diego Armando Equihuatorres received a sentence Monday for inappropriately following a South City female student after school for several days.

Equihuatorres, 23,  pleaded no contest to the misdeamer charges. He was sentenced to 2 years court probation on condition of 76 days in county jail, no contact with the victim, and staying at least 50 yards from schools.

According to the teenage victim, beginning May 22, Equihuatorres would stare at her, follow her, blow kissess at her, and once got on the same bus as her. An 18-year-old friend of the victim corroborated these descriptions.

The suspect was arrested on May 30, 2012 by South San Francisco police.

Since the arrest, the defendant was in custody on $10,000 bail. The defense attorney was Christine Bogosian.
