Tickets Remain For Annual South City Police Association Fundraiser Sunday

The St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Fundraiser collects funds to provide life insurance policies for SSF police.

Want to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day while contributing to a good cause?

This Sunday at 5 p.m., the South San Francisco Police Association is holding its 11th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef and Cabbage Fundraiser.

Held at the South San Francisco Conference Center, the event can accommodate upwards of 800 people, according to Officer Matt McNichol. There are still about 200 spots left.

The dinner fundraises for the Survivor Fund of the South San Francisco Police Association, which provide a life insurance policy for every member. The fundraisers have been sufficient to cover the full cost every year, said McNichol.

The fundraiser consists of an authentic corned beef and cabbage dinner along with Irish dancing by family members of the Police Association.

"It's a fun event for the whole family," said McNichol.

After the dinner, the Police Association will hold a raffle where guests can win a number of prizes from local businesses including gift certificates, hotel stays, decorations and other prizes.

There will also be a silent auction hosted by Man Cave Memorabilia.

Tickets are $30 a pop, and can be purchased at the South San Francisco Police Department (33 Arroyo Drive, Suite C) or by contacting Elaine Garbarino at (650) 872-1143.

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
