Suspect Arrested for Burglary on El Camino

The South City resident has been booked in San Mateo County Jail.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in South San Francisco on Wednesday after he allegedly burglarized a check cashing business, police said.

Officers responded to an alarm call at a closed check cashing business in the 600 block of El Camino Real at about 2:10 a.m., according to South San Francisco police.

Arriving officers took South San Francisco resident Othman Elayyan into custody after finding him running in the area of the business, police said.

Elayyan had allegedly kicked in the front door of the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

He was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and booked
into San Mateo County Jail.
