South City Teens Arrested in Arson Incidents

On the night of March 23, suspects set two fires in Orange Park and another fire near the 500 block of El Camino Real, according to police.

Two South San Francisco boys were in custody Saturday, suspected of setting three fires last month and possible involvement in other arson incidents dating back three years, police said.

Working with a police school liaison officers and school officials, South San Francisco police detectives earlier this week were able to identify two 14-year-old suspects thought to be responsible for the arsons.

On the night of March 23, suspects set two fires in Orange Memorial Park and another fire near the 500 block of El Camino Real, according to police.

According to investigators, the teens during questioning confessed to setting fires as far back as 2010, police said.

The teens were arrested and taken to Hillcrest Juvenile Hall; they were booked and then returned to their parents.

The boys face charges of arson and conspiracy to commit a felony.
