Man Charged with Four Felony Counts in Attack on Youths
Assailants allegedly robbed, punched foursome.
A man accused of punching, robbing and threatening four youths as they left the South San Francisco Boys and Girls Club June faces four felony counts in the June 10 attack.
Prosecutors say Francisco Jesus Heredia Jr. led the attack with the help of two minors. Two prosecution witnesses testified yesterday in a preliminary hearing.
The victims, all 15 years old, told police their assailants struck from behind, punching one of them in the back of the head. They then allegedly surrounded the victims, claiming to be armed with knives, and demanded they "turn out their pockets."

The trio allegedly made off with cell phones, $15, an Ipod Nano, head phones, a baseball cap, and other miscellaneous items.
One of the victims was punched in the face, pushed to the ground and punched in the face again. A motorist driving by called police, who found the three suspects a few blocks away at El Camino Real and Orange Avenue. All three were detained and the property recovered.

A defense motion to dismiss the chages yesterday was denied. Heredia will be arraigned on the felony counts court July 22.
Heredia is in custody on $400,000 bail. He is represented by the Private Defender Program.
