Police Department Toy, Food and Clothing Drive

The South San Francisco Police Department is asking locals who are able to donate over the next two weeks to specific families in need this holiday season.

The following information was provided by the South San Francisco Police Department:

The holidays are fast approaching and once again the South San Francisco Police Association will be having a Toy and Food drive. We are looking for new clothing and toys still in their wrapping, particularly for children under the age of 2 or over the age of 13. We are also asking for donations of non-perishable foods that can be used by needy families, particularly at this time of year.

The South San Francisco Police Association worked with the local schools and identified approximately 40 families in need. Ages and gender of children are known and the packages contain toys and clothing appropriate for those children.

We will have collection points in several areas of the city including local banks, schools and dental offices. There are also drop off bins in the lobby of the South San Francisco Police Department located at 33 Arroyo Drive Suite #C, South San Francisco. Donations can be left in the bins or given to staff at the police department Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., and Saturday & Sunday between 1 :00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

It is a worthy cause if you can donate something, even one can of food. The deadline for donations is December 15th and packages will be distributed on December 20th.
