Pimping Suspects Post Bail

Mahender Mike Singh, 40, and Helen Jean Singh, 22, posted bail Sunday night after their arrest Saturday for suspicion of prostituting three teenage girls.

The Sacramento residents were released from the San Mateo County Jail after each posting $30,000 bail bonds, said Stephen M. Wagstaffe, district attorney for San Mateo County.

after receiving a tip that a runaway girl had been seen nearby, police said. 

Police found a 19-year-old woman and two juvenile girls in a room at the hotel, police said. Mahender Singh was in another room, according to police.

Police found evidence of prostitution and under questioning, the three girls said Singh and his wife had forced them into prostitution, police said. Police found Helen Singh in another room of the hotel and arrested her along with her husband, police said.

Mahender and Helen Singh will be arraigned in the South San Francisco Branch of the San Mateo County Superior Court on Sept. 27 at 9 a.m.
