Pedestrian in Hospital With Major Injuries

A 40-year-old woman was struck by a car when crossing Grand avenue at Walnut Avenue in the crosswalk.

A 40-year-old woman suffered major injuries when a car struck her in South San Francisco on Saturday night, South San Francisco police said.

The woman, a South San Francisco resident, was walking north across Grand Avenue at the Walnut Avenue intersection in a crosswalk around 11:25 p.m. when a motorist driving west on Grand Avenue failed to see her and struck her, police said.

The woman was seriously injured and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

Police are investigating the collision.
