Pacifica Man Found Stabbed to Death in San Mateo

Police were called to the scene of All-American Storage about 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

A Pacifica man was found stabbed to death in the area of  on E. Third Avenue in San Mateo on Tuesday afternoon.

The San Mateo County Coroner's Office has identified the body as that of Justin Lockwood, a 33-year-old resident of Pacifica.

Officers say they responded to the storage facility about 1:30 p.m. and found the body.

The San Mateo Police Department is treating the case as a homicide. In a statement, San Mateo police said that "detectives have determined that this crime appears to be an isolated incident and that this does not appear to be a random act."

San Mateo police spokesman Sgt. Dave Norris told Patch that the victim suffered at least one stab wound. He said police have talked to a number of people at the scene.

All American Self Storage is located at 2000 E. Third Ave. (also known as J. Hart Clinton Drive) near Detroit Avenue. Police cordoned off the area and asked people to steer clear of the area while the homicide investigation was underway.

This was San Mateo's first homicide of the year.
