A Daly City man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly stealing
candy from a South San Francisco convenience store with a replica gun and for
allegedly hiding drugs in his rectum when cops caught up with him in San Bruno.
Michael Aragon, 29, was taken into custody following the heist, which occurred about 3:30 a.m., in the 600 block of El Camino Real.
The suspect brandished a pistol when stopped by store clerks after trying to steal the candy, according to police.
He refused to pay and drove off on El Camino Real.
Officers in the area found the suspect walking away from his vehicle at the San Bruno Towne Center shopping area.
Officers determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and then while booking him at San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City, a search yielded crystal methamphetamine hidden in his rectum.
Aragon was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery, altering a
replica firearm to appear like a real gun, possession of methamphetamine,
bringing drugs into jail and being under the influence of ilicit drugs.
Aragon was being held on $100,000 bail, pending arraignment later this week.
