Jury Convicts Man of Molesting Girlfriend's Half Sister

By Bay City News Service:

A San Mateo County jury has convicted a South San Francisco man of raping his longtime girlfriend's half sister and inappropriately texting, kissing and groping two other young girls, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's office.

Kyle Clifton Vogt, 38, was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated rape of a minor, nine counts of felony child molestation, felony sending harmful matter to seduce and felony lewd acts on a minor, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

The man was arrested in March 2012, and prosecutors say Vogt victimized the young girls, who were between the ages of 5 and 13 years old, over a span of more than 10 years.

Vogt, who did not have an extensive criminal history, held numerous jobs in the auto industry in and around Woodland, Sacramento and South San Francisco, where he had lived since 2003 before being arrested.

Vogt faces 35 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on June 20. He remains in custody on a no-bail status.
