Gunshots and Roosters Heard over the Weekend

Selections from the police blotter for Feb. 11 to Feb. 14

Friday, Feb. 11

1:00am  A caller reported being assaulted and robbed on San Mateo Avenue. Between $30 and $40 was taken from the victim.

11:28am  A big rig attempting to make a right turn at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Airport Boulevard became stuck and needed officers’ assistance to get out of the intersection.

11:12pm  Police received a report from a caller who thought he heard gunshots in the Baden Avenue/Airport Boulevard area.

Saturday, Feb. 12

4:12am  Near the intersection of Miler and Maple Avenues, a caller reported that a small Pomeranian was running loose in the street.

3:03pm  A caller on Olive Avenue complained that some kids were riding around the area on very loud scooters.

3:32pm  Police and EMTs were called to the scene of a major injury accident on Cypress Avenue. A male bicyclist was reportedly hit by a driver and sustained injuries.

10:23pm  On Hemlock Avenue, a resident reported that there was a big dog that would not leave inside her front gate.

Sunday, Feb. 13

3:51am  Employees calling from Kaiser on El Camino Real told police that they had a patient in the emergency room who said that he had been jumped around midnight in South San Francisco. The victim did not remember exactly where it happened, and said that he did not know the assailants.

6:53am  Police referred to the SPCA after receiving a complaint of a rooster crowing somewhere in the area behind La Tapatia on Third Lane.

Monday, Feb. 14

7:06am  A burglary was reported as occurring at Broadhead Steel Products on South Linden Avenue sometime over the weekend. The front gate had been pried open, but the caller was unsure what had been taken.

6:38pm  On Mayfair Avenue, a caller reported that all the windows of her vehicle were broken by a suspect that she knows, although she did not know his name. The suspect was seen leaving in a big truck.
