Go-Carts on Miller Avenue and Bill-Ducking at IHOP

Here's a selection of what South City residents have been reporting to police from Sept. 17 to Sept. 19.

Sept. 17

12:45 am  Report of a family dispute on Arbor Drive. A male was reportedly choking his sister, who made the call to the police.

7:44 am  A suspected drunk driver in a blue SUV was spotted at Camaritas Avenue and Arroyo Drive, driving on the wrong side of the road and making illegal U-turns. The driver was gone when police arrived.

11:40am  A nurse practitioner at Kaiser on El Camino Real reported a possibly suicidal patient who walked out of the hospital, throwing his meds on the ground as he left, and heading toward the parking lot. The man was around 50 years old in a white shirt and jeans.

5:30 pm  A resident reported that a culinary student who is known to carry a knife in his pocket, and who took the resident's car earlier that day, returned the vehicle. The two were reportedly arguing over a girl.

6:04 pm  An occurrence of road rage was reported on Gellert Boulevard, when a man with long, dark hair in a ponytail driving a gold or silver SUV reportedly circled a woman in the parking lot, eventually getting out of the vehicle to yell at her and kick her.

Sept. 18

10:14 am  A man was reportedly threatened by another male whom he owes money to. The man told police he was worried that his brother may go after the threatening man.

2:09 pm  Reports of very loud go-carts going up and down Miller Avenue between Holly and Sequoia.

10:46 pm  Security officials at the Basque Cultural Center called police reporting that a man was beating a woman inside.

Sept. 19

12:43 am  An employee at IHOP on South Airport Boulevard chased after three subjects who ran out without paying their bill. The suspects were part of a larger group of six to seven people, and were last seen running down South Utah Avenue.

4:54 am  Reports came in of a group of people in an apartment on McClellan Drive being loud, playing loud music and barking like dogs.

10:44 am  A report of a mountain lion sighting in the area of residential Linden Avenue came in. Police did not find any trace of the animal upon arrival.

2:52 pm  A man who was riding his bike on First Lane reported that his girlfriend's mother yelled at him that "The Mexicans are gonna go after him." The man's girlfriend is apparently in jail, and the man wanted the incident documented for his parole status.
