UPDATE: Gas Leak in Serramonte Center Parking Lot Capped

The leak was reported at 12:45 p.m. and was capped by 1:42 p.m.

Work crews capped a gas leak at the Serramonte Center shopping mall in Daly City this afternoon after a third-party contractor working in the parking lot severed a 2-inch line, a PG&E spokesman said.

The gas leak was reported just before 12:45 p.m., according to the North County Fire Authority. It posed no threat to shoppers at the mall and no evacuations were ordered, but traffic was diverted away from the scene, according to fire spokesman Matt Lucett.

The gas line, a main serving individual businesses at the mall, was capped by 1:42 p.m., PG&E spokesman Jason King said.

No customers lost service as a result of the leak, and repairs were under way this afternoon, King said.

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
