Fatality, Accidents On Highway I-280 Continue to Slow Traffic

A pedestrian fatality and multiple vehicle collisions caused all southbound lanes and two northbound lanes of Interstate Highway 280 in Daly City to be blocked this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 9:45 a.m., the right hand southbound lane had reopened, and traffic was beginning to move again. The estimated time for all lanes to be open is 11:00 a.m.

The pedestrian fatality was reported at about 5:30 a.m. and a Sigalert was issued at about 5:45 a.m. for southbound I-280 near the John Daly Boulevard off-ramp, according to the CHP.

A pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle and declared deceased at the scene, the CHP said.
