Disabled Child Sexual Abuse Conviction Could Mean Life Sentence

A 36-year-old South San Francisco father is set to appear in court Monday morning on allegations that he sexually abused his disabled daughter.

According to San Mateo County District Attorney's notes, Leonardo Gonzalez is accused of engaging in sexual acts with his daughter over a three-year period.

In 2011, when the daughter was 8, she was at the hospital for regular lab tests related to a chronic physical disability when doctors found sperm in her urine and traced it back to Gonzalez.

DA's notes indicate that defense attorney Steve Chase expects Gonzalez to enter a no contest plea. There is a maximum sentence of life in prison.
