Daly City Dryer Ignites One-Alarm Fire in Garage

Three residents were able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived Friday morning.

A dryer sparked a fire in a garage at a Daly City home late this morning, a fire spokesman said.

The one-alarm fire in the 700 block of Clarinada Avenue was reported at 11:51 a.m., North County Fire Authority spokesman Matt Lucett said.

Arriving crews saw some smoke coming from the garage area of the home, Lucett said.

Three residents were able to get out of the house before firefighters arrived, he said.

The fire was extinguished at 12:02 p.m. No injuries were reported and the residents will be able to return to the home after fire crews finish investigating and cleaning up.

Investigators have determined the fire started in the dryer in the garage, Lucett said.
