Crime Blotter: Street Fights, Meth Spoons and Public Urination

Selections from the police blotter for May 6 through May 9.

Friday, May 6

11:19am  A male was spotted climbing over a residential fence on Aspen Avenue. The reporting caller said the man then got into a car parked on Cypress Avenue minutes later.

12:46pm  Emergency responders assisted a transient man who was reportedly passed out and unresponsive next to a building on South Linden Avenue.

1:53pm  A passerby on an overpass along Sister Cities Boulevard reported that the driver of a semi was engaged in a fistfight with another subject.

Saturday, May 7

11:31am  At All Souls School on Miller Avenue, parents reported that a man posing as a hired photographer was taking pictures of children and asking for their names and addresses during a first communion reception. School officials said they did not know who the man was.

12:44pm  A female walking in the area of Eucalyptus and Commercial Avenues reported that a man in a white vehicle reportedly drove by her repeatedly, honking his horn.

2:12pm  At the Airport Inn on Airport Boulevard, a woman with long hair wearing sunglasses was spotted urinating on vehicles in the parking lot. The caller said that the female looked confused and proceeded to walk through traffic.

4:09pm  A window was broken at First Lutheran Church on Dolores Way after an unknown subject threw a rock through it.

6:13pm  Police made an arrest at Industrial Hotel on Cypress Avenue after a client reportedly approached the front desk asking for his “meth spoon” back.

9:27pm  A bicyclist suffered minor injuries after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Callan Boulevard and King Drive.

Sunday, May 8

3:09am  A caller reported a possible drunk driver in a gray Nissan Sentra near South Spruce and Railroad Avenues. The caller said that the driver was reckless, pulling over to urinate in the street and then nearly running the caller’s car off the road.

4:16pm  Officers received a report that individuals from three or four cars were outside their vehicles fighting in the intersection of Hickey Boulevard and El Camino Real.

4:35pm  An employee at Public Storage on Oyster Point Boulevard called police after having to throw out a customer who was yelling and cussing at her. The customer reportedly made threats toward the employee and wrote down her license plate number.

Monday, May 9

12:05am  A man called police to report that his friend was in a room at Citigarden Inn with three prostitutes, who he said had also propositioned him.

10:35am  A motorcyclist escaped injury after being hit by a white Toyota at the intersection of Junipero Serra and Arroyo Drive.

2:34pm  Employees at the Cycle Shack Inc. on San Mateo Avenue said that someone had tried to cut their copper piping sometime overnight.
