Crime Blotter: Snake Bites Three-Year-Old

Monday, June 13
2:21am Two vehicles were vandalized in the parking lot near Marakas Bar on Grand Avenue. The windshield of one car was smashed in while the other vehicle had been sprayed with something.
10:10am An employee locker was burglarized at the Orange Avenue Library and cash was stolen from inside. The reporting caller said the lock had been cut.

Tuesday, June 14
8:20am Work trucks from Chrissa Imports on Harbor Way were broken into sometime overnight. Employees reported that wine had been stolen from inside.

3:47pm Callers in the Hillside Boulevard/Chestnut Avenue area reported that the drivers of three vehicles were driving recklessly, swerving between lanes, and that passengers were hanging out of doors and windows, yelling. The vehicles were reported to be a beige colored Buick, a blue Lexus sedan and a white limousine.
Wednesday, June 15
4:31am An anonymous caller reported that a black Cadillac had crashed into a pole on South Airport Boulevard near Beacon Street. The airbag was deployed but the driver was no longer on scene. Police determined that the car had been stolen.
11:05am Police referred to the SPCA with a possible snakebite victim on Rockwood Drive. A mother phoned in a report that her three-year-old son had been playing in their backyard when he screamed that a snake bit him. The boy had marks on his knee, but the mother could not find the snake.
2:36pm Employees at Round Table Pizza on Chestnut Avenue called police after two transients entered the restaurant with their belongings and caused a disturbance. While one eventually left, another refused to leave.
6:50pm A caller from Pak N Save on Gellert Boulevard reported witnessing a female steal from the store, putting items in a tiger striped purse.
