Crime Blotter: Resident Worries About Sword-Wielding Neighbor

Selections from the police blotter for April 18 through April 20.

Monday, April 18

7:46am  Minor injuries were incurred after a black SUV and a school bus got into a traffic accident near the intersection of Grand and Orange Avenues.

8:20am  Police sent a cover unit to the Residence Inn on Veterans Boulevard, where two Asian females reportedly walked in and told the front desk they had been assaulted by a group of men at the Holiday Inn.

6:20pm  Sewage was reportedly leaking up from a drain and onto a sidewalk on Commercial Avenue.

Tuesday, April 19

2:22am  A disturbance took place at Produce Terminal on Terminal Court, where a tow truck driver reportedly drove through a gate, then threatened to beat up the attending security guard.

1:59pm  Televisions and Xbox game systems were reported as stolen after an overnight burglary at the Boys and Girls Club on Hillside Boulevard.

10:22pm  A resident on Alta Mesa Drive complained that she believed a neighbor was stalking her. She said that the man was often outside at the same time she was, and that she spotted him waving a sword around outside his house.

Wednesday, April 20

7:30am  A guest at Deluxe Inn reported that her roommate’s girlfriend stole her belongings during the night. Among items taken were a laptop, debit card and cell phone.

11:03am  Two students were detained at El Camino High School after reportedly eating brownies laced with marijuana.

11:43am  Near See’s Candies on South Airport Boulevard, a man was spotted in the bushes by the canal. The reporting caller said it was suspicious because he had heard a female screaming about five minutes prior.

12:45pm  Callers reported a reckless driver in a gold four door Mercedes sedan near the intersection of El Camino Real and Chestnut Avenue. The driver was reportedly speeding, cutting other drivers off and then slowing down.

5:42pm  On Rancho Drive, a resident ‘s landscape light was pulled out of the front lawn sometime overnight.
