Blotter: String of Catalytic Converter Thefts Hits Toyota Owners

The following information was supplied by the South San Francisco Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, December 19

8:37am  A catalytic converter was stolen from a Toyota Tundra parked on Douglas Way sometime overnight.

9:49am  All four tires on a Jeep Patriot were slashed sometime overnight on Morningside Avenue.

1:01pm  Employees at Alta Loma Middle School detained a student who reportedly brought a BB gun to school.

9:29pm  Officers received a report of another catalytic converter having been stolen the previous night, this time off a Toyota Tundra parked on Cottonwood Avenue.

Tuesday, December 20

1:25pm  Another catalytic converter was reported as stolen overnight, this time off a Toyota Sequoia parked on Sequoia Avenue.

Wednesday, December 21

6:55am  Police received a report that a blue Honda Accord with Christmas presents inside it was stolen from Magnolia Avenue sometime overnight.

10:50am  On Longford Drive, the NCP Nursing School was vandalized overnight. A wreath was reportedly stolen from outside and the school was toilet papered.

11:39am  Yet another catalytic converter was reported as stolen from a Toyota, this time a 4Runner on Nursery Way.

2:26pm  Police received a report from a resident on Clay Avenue who was complaining that someone left an open jar of mayonnaise on the home’s front porch and it seemed suspicious to the resident.

6:17pm  Officers received a report from Gunter’s on El Camino Real that a customer was becoming argumentative and was refusing to pay his bill.

7:54pm  A man in a black hoodie was spotted trying door handles to see if any were unlocked in the parking lot of St. Augustine’s on Callan Boulevard.
