Blotter: Stolen Cabs, Wayward Drivers and Fallen Trees

Friday, March 16
4:18pm Employees at Goodwill on Kenwood Way reported a case of fraud when a 5’2” man in his 30’s or 40’s attempted to pay with a counterfeit bill, then ran when asked for his identification.
5:47pm Officers made an arrest following a report from Pacifica that a taxi driver was robbed of his cab after being hit in the face by the perpetrator.

7:02pm Police received a report that the driver of a gray Buick was driving on the wrong side of the road on Arroyo Drive near Camaritas Avenue. The caller also reported that the vehicle appeared to have front end damage.

2:45am Police sent out a unit to search for a hit-and-run driver after receiving a report from the CHP that a silver two-door Honda was seen speeding in the Myrtle Avenue area, losing control, running over a fence and then crashing into a parked vehicle.
9:37am Officers received a report that a driver on Tennis Drive ran over a sprinkler head maintained by the parks department. The driver reported that the pipe broke, and the shut-off valve could not be located to stop the water flow.
Sunday, March 18
1:48am Police received a report from Solita on Hazelwood Drive that a man inside punched a security guard and refused to leave the premises.
11:06am A 50-foot long tall tree reportedly fell in the middle of Paradise Valley Park. No injuries or damages were reported at the time of the call.
1:48pm Four females reportedly stole a cart full of groceries from Pak N Sav on Gellert Boulevard.
Monday, March 19
10:37am Police received a call from a man who said that he was physically assaulted by a stranger on Grand Avenue near US Bank.
12:23pm A caller from the Magnolia/Baden Avenue area reported that two males were chasing her boyfriend with a knife, eventually running off.
2:57pm Officers received a report from Christie’s on Airport Boulevard that a tenant was continually urinating out of his window.
5:14pm Employees at Zarc International on South Linden Avenue called police to report that they received 100 pounds of copper wiring and were placing the metal on hold until police confirmed whether or not it had been stolen.
5:15pm Police received a report from Raymond Express on Harbor Way that copper piping had been stolen from the rear of the building sometime over the weekend.
5:29pm A laptop was stolen from inside a blue Toyota Prius parked at Hungry Hunter on South Airport Boulevard.
6:08pm Officers responded to a report of an assault at Park SFO on North Access Road, where a caller reported that a man hit him and then attempted to run him over with his vehicle.
