Blotter: Residents Find Burglar in the Act

Saturday, November 26

4:57pm  Police received a report from Linden Avenue near Armour that an infant was spotted riding in the lap of a passenger in a green truck, not buckled in a safety seat.

10:48pm  A drunken male was reportedly causing a disturbance and refusing to leave Morelos Hall on Miller Avenue.

10:53pm  Officers sent a cover unit to Safeway on Chestnut Avenue, where a male wearing a dark hoodie and glasses was reportedly trying to steal lighter fluid from the store. The reporting caller said that the man had a shaved head and bruises on his face and left on foot, running toward Wells Fargo.

10:53pm  Two residents on Olive Avenue reportedly spotted a subject in their home in the middle of what they suspected was a burglary.

Sunday, November 27

1:57am  Police sent a cover unit to 7-Eleven on El Camino Real after overhearing an argument between a clerk and a customer on a 911 call.

7:36am  Police received a report of a possible hate crime at a residence on McLellan Drive, where a swastika had been spray painted onto a door sometime overnight.

10:09am  A silver 1998 Honda was reportedly stolen from Tipperary Avenue sometime overnight.

6:42pm  Officers referred to the SPCA after receiving a call from a residence on Spruce Avenue that a snake was in the home’s backyard. The caller said it looked like the snake may be injured.

Monday, November 28

10:15am  A laptop was reported as stolen from Genentech Building Four on DNA Way. The crime reportedly occurred sometime over the weekend.

11:45am  Copper wires were stolen sometime over the weekend from a construction site near the intersection of Gateway Boulevard and East Grand Avenue.

10:16pm  A man riding in an older model white sedan reportedly stole two cases of beer from Jailhouse Deli.
