Blotter: Police Make Arrest After Mayfair Carjacking

The following information was supplied by the South San Francisco Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, July 18

1:28pm  A student was held in custody at El Camino High School after reportedly setting off a firecracker in a classroom.

3:15pm  Police made an arrest on an assault charge at People’s Park on Maple Avenue and Fourth Lane.

10:10pm  Police received a report from South Spruce Avenue at Railroad Avenue that between six and eight juveniles were running around banging on car windows and doors and screaming.

9:47am  Officers sent a unit to Linden Avenue after receiving a report that two men were trying to break into a parked Lexus using a Slim Jim.

5:28pm  Police received a report from 1 Mandalay Place that a man who got out of a green Dodge Caravan urinated on the building.

Friday, July 20

1:36pm  The radio was stolen out of a Mazda Miata parked on St. Cloud Drive. The culprits reportedly cut through the vehicle’s fabric convertible top to gain entry.

5:32pm  Officers received a report that panhandlers in front of a liquor store near Linden and Grand Avenues were being aggressive with passersby and were smoking marijuana.

Saturday, July 21

9:48am  A pedestrian walking on Mission Road near Lawndale Drive reported that a red vehicle with front end damage drove onto the curb and almost hit her.

10:28am  Police made an arrest after receiving a report of a carjacking on Mayfair Drive. The victim said that the perpetrator approached him while he was unloading groceries from his 2011 Ford Fiesta, grabbed his keys and then tried to punch him, making off with the vehicle.

6:35pm  Firefighters assisted a woman who became stuck in an elevator at Public Storage on Meath Drive.

Sunday, July 22

1:30am  A bartender at The Standby Club on Airport Boulevard called police after having to throw out a patron who refused to leave. After being thrown out, the man reportedly continued to loiter outside the bar.

11:04pm  A resident on Grand Avenue called police reporting that an unknown person was pounding on her living room window repeatedly and she was worried the person may break it.
