Blotter: Kids Light Smoke Bombs and Firecrackers

Monday, January 23

3:36am  Police received a report that between three and four subjects were breaking into a vacant apartment on Grand Avenue through a window.

11:16am  Staff at Denny’s on Airport Boulevard called police after a man in his 30s wearing an orange jacket with black stripes entered the restaurant and said he felt like someone was trying to kill him. Employees said the man was hiding in the front of the restaurant and they suspected he was under the influence.

Tuesday, January 24

8:19am  A resident on Pine Avenue called police after discovering a three-inch long knife in his front yard.

9:35am  On Olive Avenue, a caller reported that a man in a blue-striped shirt and “funny hat” was outside his residence screaming that he was going to kill his family. The caller said that he had heard the man say in the past that he had a gun.

1:43pm  On Alta Loma Drive, a resident reported hearing someone trying to get in her front door and that the lock had been tampered with.

Wednesday, January 25

3:25pm  Police received a report that around four juveniles were lighting smoke bombs and firecrackers near a parking lot on Baden Avenue.

9:33pm  A caller reported that her son’s cell phone was stolen from his backpack near the basketball courts at Buri Buri Park.
