Blotter: Hit-and-Run Victim Chases Down Guilty Party

Monday, March 26
12:37am A white minivan was reportedly stolen from Baden Avenue. The vehicle’s owner reportedly saw the van being driven away, traveling north on Baden.
6:51pm Police received a report from a caller who witnessed a man attempt to break into a black SUV parked in the Smart and Final Lot on Kenwood Way.

Tuesday, March 27
2:46am Officers and firefighters responded to Evergreen Drive, where a female reported having difficulty breathing after being punched by a friend.

9:59am Police received a report that a St. Vincent de Paul work truck hit the reporting caller’s pickup and then fled. The victim then chased the truck down and had the responsible party on scene waiting for police.
5:34pm A resident of Fairfax Way reported a home burglary earlier in the afternoon. The culprits reportedly entered through a dining room window, but nothing appeared to be taken from the house.
10:29pm Officers received a report from a caller on Constitution Way who was the apparent victim of identity theft. The caller reported getting an email receipt that day for $4,000 worth of laptops purchased from Best Buy, none of which the victim actually purchased.
Wednesday, March 28
12:11am Officers made an arrest on Mandalay Place after receiving a call from a man who said his ex-girlfriend was outside his house and had slashed all four of his tires.
1:12am Police sent a unit to Newman Drive, where a resident reported that someone was trying to break in through the home’s bathroom window.
