Blotter: Employee Maced after Trying to Catch Thief

Friday, September 23

12:09am  Officers made an arrest after receiving a report of a hit-and-run collision that resulted in damage to three vehicles on Duval Drive.

6:44pm  Police received a call from Safeway on Chestnut Avenue that a customer was causing a disturbance inside the store, yelling and bothering other customers.

Saturday, September 24

10:35pm  Police made an arrest after receiving a report of a drunk driver in a blue Toyota Corolla on Grand Avenue near Magnolia.

11:44pm  A physical fight between  at least ten people, women and men, broke out at the Women’s Club on Grand Avenue. The subjects were reportedly using broken bottles as weapons.

Sunday, September 25

1:18am  Officers made an arrest after receiving a report that six juveniles were fighting and yelling on Dundee Drive after drinking on the hill.

8:12am  On Oakcrest Avenue, a catalytic converter was stolen from Toyota 4Runner sometime overnight.

3:07pm  A Smart and Final employee was maced in the store’s parking lot on Kenwood Way after following out a customer who was suspected of stealing.

7:25pm  Caltrain employees held a train at the Dubuque Avenue station to wait for police assistance when a male in the front car started disturbing other passengers, yelling obscenities.
